    Description

This 3 gang  mould is made of brass and is based off an original that we have in our collection. The mould has 3 diffrent sized balls in one mould. The sizes are .673 .651 .600. This is the only size we have and can make. The halves may not match up perfect and each mould may measure slightly diffrent than what we have mentioned. My opinion for gang moulds is that a mould of this type would accomodate several diffrent size caliber muskets and if your using  paper for cartridges you need a smaller ball, as an example a 69 caliber used with paper may take a .673 or .650 round ball instead of a .678.  Sometimes you may get some flashing around the ball and this is normal for this type of mould, if this happens try lowering the temperature of the lead before pouring. Also want to mention that when you hold the mould up to the light you will see a small gap where the halves meet. This is normal as we have seen this in many originals moulds. A small gap will not effect the casting of the ball. We have many satisfied customers using our moulds taking game and plinking. There is great satifaction that comes from casting and shooting game with the round balls that you just made like they did in the 18th century.
Note) These molds are hand made and may not cast the perfect round ball. We strive to do our best to make them as close as possible to the sizes we mention. The size may be off by a few thousands,as an example a .490 may measure out at .487. If you want perfection we suggest buying your round balls. However if you want to make and shoot round balls as they did in the 18th century then our molds are for you. We also have the question asked ,How many balls can you cast at one sitting? My own personal experience is about a dozen at a time and then I let the mold cool down and then start over. We own several original round ball molds and have many unshot hand dug round balls in our collection and have found that most balls are not perfect. We have seen the half's of the mold do not match perfect and flat spots. We made one mold that was oblong and had to load the round ball with the sprew to the side of the barrel to get the ball down the barrel, surprising the ball shot very well and have taken game with this mold. So after saying all of this do not expect absolute perfection in our molds.
