    Description

    estate item, from a friend who was the treasurer for our local wood turning society - I have a gouge a lot like this, I ground a fingernail grind on it and I use it a lot, personally I find this straight across grind pretty useless, but that is how the tool comes.  Glue sand the tang of the blade a little and glue it into the handle with epoxy.  My friend had used CA glue which is too brittle for this application.  I may find a ferrule at the estate, if I do, I'll replace it and update the listing, you can use steel  tubing or copper, or wrap steel wire around the ferrule and then put epoxy over it.  Ferrule ID is 1 inch (I'd probably use 1" EMT if it were mine, it's stronger than brass but not as pretty.  Stainless is another pretty choice, if you want beauty in  your tools.
