Straw Hat Ladies 13" Molded 18th Century Reproduction

This molded straw hat is made with our 13" plain straw hat.  These hats were meant to sit on top of the head. To keep your hat on the women would use a ribbon that would be attached to the hat on the crown and would be tied under the chin or back behind your neck. Sometimes a hat pin was used pushed threw the crown and attached to there hair. These hats were many times decorated with silk flowers, ribbons, birds and turned up in the back or we have seen them worn with the ribbon pulled over the brim to help shade there face and neck from the hot sun. This hat is shown plain and sold this way to decorate yourself. We have shown one sample of a hat decorated  for  ideas. Women of the 18th century wore these hats over there linen or cotton caps when they went shopping,visiting,church or any social event. These are a well made of milan straw , one that you will be proud to wear at your next social event. We can decorate your molded hat for you if you like.
