This kit contains what you need to make the small size woodturning tool that uses 1/8" square bits. Everything you need is included except the handle. Simply make the handle you want to complete your tool. This set is finished in black oxide for rust resistance.
This tool is particularly useful for small turnings or detail turning. You can see an example of this below. I also use it for establishing target depths on turnings. You can set the amount of bit extension from the end of the tool body and just push it in until the shoulder of the tool hits the surface of your turning.
The tool body is 4140 chrome-moly steel measuring 6 1/2" long from the handle with a 2" tang. The main body is a 3/8" hex and the tang is 5/16 diameter. The cutting bit is cobalt steel. This will cut like a laser. You can watch several videos of my tool being used on YouTube. Just go to YouTube.com and search for SegmentedTurner.
I've also posted links in the last two photos to videos showing these tools in use.
The kit is shown in the photo above. That tiny dot below the stirring stick is the magnet you can use to hold the wrench in the handle as shown in some of my completed tools. It's up to you if you want to do this.
This kit includes the small tool body, Allen screws, Allen wrench, cutting bit, magnet for holding the wrench in the handle (if you chose to do so), high strength epoxy and mixing stick and instructions and guidelines about how to make your handles and attach them to the body, and some pointers on how to use the tool. If you’d like to review the instructions before you buy just send a message with your email and I’ll send the .PDF files.
This tool should also work with any metal handle system that will accept 5/16 diameter tool tangs. The tang is shown in the photo to the right, and is 2 inches long.
You can click on the photo to the left for a larger version of guidelines on the use of this tool.

The two photos to either side link to YouTube videos of me using the standard size of this tool. The one to the right also includes use of the small sized tool. I also have other videos posted there so feel free to explore my YouTube channel.
